The edition offers an Index of Persons and Places.

The Index of Persons includes the names of people mentioned in the letters and, their dates of life, if known. Persons whose identities have not been ascertained (e.g. "Kammerdiener", "Fräulein Müller" or "alter Graf") are also listed - without any claim to completeness.

The Index of Places includes localities (towns, villages, districts) mentioned in the letters as well as other prominent topographical entities (e.g. "Mont Blanc" or "Kamchatka").
